More Term 3 news...
Each week we've been talking about various aspects of Road Safety.  Students have brought in clothes and equipment that keep them safe when walking, scooting and cycling around the neighbourhood.
We've discussed how to be good passengers and practiced singing the Seatbelt Song to remind us of the importance of wearing a seatbelt.

Betty's visit
Today we were lucky enough to have Betty, Kerrimuir's Crossing Supervisor, come and visit.  She answered questions about herself, her job and Road Safety in general.  She made sure to tell the Preps about correct behaviour on and around the crossing.  Important things to remember are: wait behind the yellow line until Betty blows the whistle twice, walk across the crossing and stay within the lines.  Stop, look, listen and think before crossing, she said.  When she blows the whistle only once that means 'Stop - there's danger around'. Betty has been a lollipop lady for over 32 years so she knows what she's talking about!

Last Friday, Brainstorm Productions brought their show 'The H Team' to Kerrimuir. Actors Lauren and Vito played Mindy and Cal, two people from outer space who came to advise Australian children about living in health and harmony. In a fast-paced, energetic show they kept their audience spell-bound for an hour while managing to impart their messages about making sensible personal choices in life. It was an upbeat production that really got the children talking.
After such a fantastic morning, it was lovely to spend the afternoon outside in the winter sunshine watching Kerrimuir's Quidditch final.

Hello Term 3!
This term we're looking at Road Safety.  Each week everyone has the chance to share their knowledge with the class about road rules, signs, safety equipment etc. The other week we went outside to observe passing traffic and pedestrians, having learned how to tally the results. We were also lucky enough to have Anne from the RACV's 'Street Scene' come and talk to us about how to stay safe as pedestrians and passengers. She used catchy raps and rhymes to help teach the important messages.
