Shirley Barber visit

This week we were fortunate enough to enjoy a visit from popular author and illustrator, Shirley Barber.  She showed us examples of her drawings from childhood through to the present day and we were entranced by their fine detail and dreamlike quality. Shirley told us about her favourite characters and how she developed story lines around them.  She read one of her stories and answered many of our questions. It was a wonderful opportunity for the aspiring junior authors and illustrators in P/1C to see how great ideas, talent, patience and years of hard work combine to produce such lovely end results.
