February Highlights

It seems that P/1C have developed some great habits - we have had enough bankers to win us the Bankers of the Week cup for February. Well done!

The latest activity of unwrapping bubble gum, chewing it to make it soft, flattening it out, wrapping it around our tongues and trying to blow it into big bubbles was a lot harder than we thought. We were able to write about the whole thing 'though - funny pictures to follow soon.

When the Grade Ones get together each week they get up to some wonderful activities - lately they have made their own Sun Smart hats. This involved using pencil and string to draw a circle before decorating and cutting it out.

The whole school took part in a tabloid sports morning to celebrate a positive start to the school year at Kerrimuir. Each student was in a team with others from Prep to Grade 6 and played their part very capably on what was a very hot and sticky morning!

In class we begin the week with sharing weekend news before writing in our diaries. This is also a great way to get to know each other, and to find out about each others' interests.

During the warm, sunny weather we have been learning how to use the play equipment as part of a fitness circuit, as well as improving our skills with hoops, bean bags, balls and skipping ropes. We also run races and play games on our fantastic Fun and Fitness Ground area.
